The Lowcountry of South Carolina is home to numerous annual events and festivals that take place each year and invite hundreds of thousands of visitors to the area.
Many of the annual events take place in Charleston and surrounding areas of Mt. Pleasant, Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms. Several are nationally renowned and benefit charitable or local causes. Among the big draws are the Lowcountry Oyster Festival, Southeastern Wildlife Expo, Cooper River Bridge Run, Lowcountry Cajun Festival, Annual Blessing of the Fleet, Spoleto Festival USA, Moja Arts Festival, Isle of Palms Connector Run/Walk, Charleston Komen Race for the Cure, and the Parade of Boats in Charleston Harbor. Featured is the Isle of Palms Christmas Festival that takes place annually and this year, will be held on December 1! Residents and visitors will head down to Front Beach on Isle of Palms and help bring in the holiday season, island style! This free event will have live music, carnival rides, food and craft vendors and even a visit from Santa Claus! At approximately 5:30 the city will officially light the 24′ tree on Front Beach.
