The film “Slow Ride: The Life and Times along the S.C. Intracoastal Waterway” was shown as part of ETV’s Southern Lens program, which is a production of the Center for Documentary at the College of Charleston.

Director Tim Fennell says the 3,000-mile-long inshore navigation channel along the Atlantic coast is the Route 66 of waterways, and he wanted to show how the South Carolina portion is important to the state.

The South Carolina portion of the waterway flows from Little River to Hilton Head Island.

The film is also being shown at the SC Aquarium to help announce the center’s next documentary, a look at the inter-connected water resources of South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.
According to the Post and Courier, the growing demand on that water has the state’s grappling with Western states-style “water wars” issues. The aquarium is partnering with the center on the effort.

As of the end of 1st quarter 2009 there are 317 single-family homes for sale and 169 condos or t-homes on the market. For a total of 486 units

During the 1st quarter of 2009, there were 31 homes that sold or went under contract. Of those homes 5, were condos or t-homes and the balance of 26 were single-family dwellings.

The average days on market for condos/t-homes was 189. The average days on market for single family homes on Isle of Palms was 251 days.

Two give you some comparison from last quarter, 4th quarter 2008. There were 493 homes for sale, that includes single family, condo and t-homes. In the 4th quarter there were 32 homes that sold or went under contract — 25 were condos and the balance of 7 was single family. During the 4th quarter the average days on market for single-family homes on Isle of Palms was 251 and the average DOM for condos was 150 days.
